Jill Jackson returns to Ayrshire on Saturday 26th May 2018!
>Are We There Yet? is the long awaited 5th solo album by Paisley born singer songwriter Jill Jackson, a record that bears the hallmarks of a 25 year musical journey that has taken her from Paisley to Top of The Pops to playing in every State of America (50 States in 50 Days.....yes really!)
In the time since 2012's 5-star reviewed The Ones That Got Away, Jill temporarily relocated to Nashville where she became immersed in Music City's culture of storytelling song-writing.
Personal struggles and a bucket list hike of the Grand Canyon saw the Celtic Connections award winning artist return overflowing with lyrical and musical inspiration. These momentous changes of life and reflective nature flow through every word and note of the 10 new songs on Are We There Yet? – an uplifting, accomplished, mature record.
Produced by Boo Hewerdine (Eddi Reader, Emily Barker), Are We There Yet? combines innovative, playful arrangements that would not sound out of place in Lindy Hop, Harlem or the heart of the deep South. With an unabashed embrace of gleeful, melodic choruses delivered in Jill's unmistakeable warm and heart-wrenching voice.
We are delighted that Jill will once again be performing at South Beach Sessions once more this May.

The Venue
South Beach Sessions found it's new home during WinterStorm Rock Festival Weekend when we set up a stage, a bar and full PA into the "Reception Room" overlooking the beach and prom in Troon Concert Hall. Not only has it the most spectacular views across the Firth of Clyde and the occasional breathtaking sunset it also feels like a real venue! It will be used as standing only, seated and mixed depending on the event taking place and we have 24 nights booked for 2018 already with a mix of rock, folk, bluegrass, Americana, blues, tributes and comedy to come before the end of the year.
The bar is professionally provided by The Harbour Bar in Troon and will offer draft beer as well as bottles, spirits and wines. It is for the moment over 18's only but we are hoping that we can develop the family friendly music theme as we move forward.
The room has a 1980's Student Union feel about it and we're happy with that vibe. Great sound, great views, great artistes. All we need to make it work in the longer terms is YOU!
