Following the recent death and funeral of Ayrshire's own rock legend, Tom Jones, we have decided to turn this event over to a fundraising event. We read the article published by journalist Bob Shields and it became clear that money was tight in the end and that maybe this was the right thing to do.
We have said on a number of occasions that WinterStorm would not have happened if it hadm't been for The Pavilion. Powerhouse and Tom Jones' influence.
Our musical influences were grounded and shaped by The Apollo and The Piv and we wouldn't be listening to the music we are or promoting the gigs we do if it wasn't for that upbringing.
Quite simply WinterStorm was influenced, shaped and born from the shadows of Tom Jones and his belief in putting on live rock music in Ayrshire.
So we are delighted to donate the proceeds from our first ever Rock Night at South Beach Sessions to the benefit of Tom Jones.
Tickets can be bought on line here or from the Gaiety Theatre in Ayr and The Harbour Bar in Troon. The gig had already sold well so please but in advance and help us make some money for a very worthy cause.
Chris Glen and The Outfit compered by Tom Russell
We are delighted that Chris Glen and his band will now be supported by the presence of legenedary Rock DJ Tom Russell to ensure that the sounds of The Piv will resonate all night in Troon.
With over 40 years in the music business Chris is best known for his quintessential bass playing with legendary rock bands and most famously THE SENSATIONAL ALEX HARVEY BAND and is still touring now with Michael Schenker.
His lists of credits in bands runs for lines and lines and he continues to expand his impressive CV and is always in demand, he also has his own musical project Chris Glen and The Outfit and we are delighted to welcome them to South Beach Sessions.
From teenage fantasy to living the dream, Chris Glen has been there, done it and, as they say, has got the tee shirt.
