Live@Troon are delighted to present Radio Scotland DJ Tom Morton coming home to Troon with a selection of artistes from his radio show sessions at The South Beach Hotel with former Silencers frontman JJ Gilmour headlining. Internationally acclaimed Scottish singer-songwriter JJ Gilmour made his recording debut in 1989 with The Silencers, one of Scotland’s top bands who enjoyed huge success throughout Europe. A naturally gifted musician, (in his youth, JJ came very close to a career in classical music as a tenor) he first joined the band as a backing vocalist though later in the bands career JJ progressed seamlessly to lead vocalist and performs throughout Scotland as a solo artist and with his band. The band Ashton Lane was formed after Esther met her now husband Tim O’Connor at one of her solo gigs down a cobbled St in Glasgow (also called Ashton Lane). Their creative partnership, as well their connection over what they value in life was immediately obvious and the street where they met seemed like the perfect name for their band. They perform regularly as a duo and at times as a 3 piece when Graeme Duffin joins them as guest guitarist. Having toured the length and breadth of the UK, gigged in Nashville Tenessee, and extensively round Europe. Ashton Lane have also achieve considerable success online with over 4 million views of their youtube “Kitchen Sessions”, over 200,000 twitter followers and a large following of dedicated fans. JJ Gilmour and Ashton Lane are further supported by duo Nicky Murray and Chloe Rodgers.
